This unique lake pier with a jump pad is located in a beautiful city park in Olecko. The pier is a great attraction especially during the summer. Within the area tourists can also visit: bar, pier, jump, waterslide, golf, beach volleyball and water equipment rental. The facilities were built in 1930 as part of the sports and leisure center. The pier is listed as a monument, however needed to be rebuilt in 2004. An important element is high, white tower located at the very end, it is a symbol of the Olecko city. Today, it’s a place for walks and regular sports or cultural events.
Szczecinki village was found by Albrecht Szczecinski in 1556. Then in 1563 it was given to Albrecht Ciecińskiemu for a faithful service. The church was put up in two years from 1926 to 1928. The parish of St. Stanislaus Bishop was canonically approved in 1982.
The estate was established in 1526 and was owned by von Helle family. In eighteenth century it belonged to Polish families Ciesielskich and Salzwedell-Więckowskich. The whole property consisted of 625 acres of land with distillery and sawmill. Until now, there are the remnants of old park and farmyard buildings there.
It’s a cemetery of world war I in Kowale Oleckie. According to the table at the entrance it is the resting place of 45 German soldiers and 136 Russian soldiers. The cemetery was renovated in 1994.
